Xiaomi’s Redmi Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 7 are the best phones in Nepal in the price segment under Rs 30,000 and have been some of the iconic smartphones that come with powerful processors. Redmi Note 7 is the first phone from Redmi 7 series lineup to launch in Nepal. The base variant price of Redmi Note 7 in India is Rs 9,999. Redmi Note 7 is available in Nepal at the price of Rs. 19,999 for 3/32GB, Rs. 24,999 for 4/64GB and Rs. 26,999 for 4/128GB variants. Check out the latest price of Xiaomi mobiles in Nepal as well.

Design and Display

Xiaomi has changed the design of its new Redmi Note 7-series this time as Redmi 6 Pro was not much changed from the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Redmi Note 7 comes in three striking color variants. The back of the Redmi Note 7 has a glass back panel, which is great in this price segment.

Xiaomi has used Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of the phone, which is quite remarkable. The sides of the phone are made of plastic which still gives a premium look to the phone. The body of the Redmi Note 7 has a P2I Nano coating, which means this phone is splash-proof.

Redmi Note 7 comes with a 6.3-inch LCD panel that has a Full-HD+ resolution. The big display comes with a 450 nit brightness level to support the user in daylight and color reproduction is also good. Apart from this, you will also be able to control the contrast and color temperature, which is a good thing. Especially the glass back panel with this color variant gives a striking look. The index finger easily reaches the capacitive fingerprint sensor.

Camera

Unlike Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back. The main lens has an aperture of f/2.2, which is not good for low light photography.

Shooting modes like Panorama, Portrait, and Pro are available on the phone with the AI Scene Detection feature in the camera app. Redmi Note 7 captures well in daylight and colors and details are captured well but lack little sharpness on time. Sometimes we get a glimpse of chromatic aberration with bright background and HDR is not always able to handle the exposure of the bright area.

Camera app AI system detects buildings, plants, flowers, etc. correctly. On macro mode, the camera boosts AI colors, due to which the subject starts looking artificial. The depth sensor helps in taking good portrait shots. Edge detection is also good for objects and people. Low-light performance is good but not the best. Details can be captured well in colors at landscape mode inadequate light.

The 13-megapixel front camera takes a good selfie when there is enough light. AI beautification is not very aggressive. If you want, you can shoot a selfie with a bokeh effect and edge detection is not bad either. Selfie also came good in low-light. The video quality is not very impressive. The bright area is overexposed when shooting in daylight.

The phone does not have a 4K option, but you will get 1080p 60 fps mode. Apart from this, you will also find shooting modes like time-lapse and slow-motion which work well.

Hardware and Performance

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor which is a common chipset in the phones under Rs 25,000 segment. It is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 675 processor found in the Redmi Note 7 Pro but it is still decent. It is worth noting that you are getting Snapdragon 660 processor in the base variant of Redmi Note 7 for less than Rs 20,000, which is a big thing.

The phone comes with three variants of RAM and storage. The first is 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, second is 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and lastly the 4GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. Redmi Note 7 phone runs on MIUI 10.2 based on Android 9 Pie. The phone has much bloatware pre-installed. As soon as we set up the handset, advertisements and promotions from the stock Xiaomi apps such as music and video players started appearing in the notification shade. However, there is also a way to fix it.

But of course, when we play PUBG Mobile for some time, it gets hot. But the phone is not so hot that you have to take a break for some time in between. This phone is Widevine L1 certified, which means you can stream TV shows and movies from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Battery, Connectivity and Others

Redmi Note 7 has a bug 4,000 mAh battery which is pretty impressive.
