Design and Display
Redmi 9 looks beautiful and looks remarkably similar to the Redmi Note 8 Pro at first glance. Hardware and Performance
The Redmi 9 is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. This SoC is manufactured on a 12nm FinFET process and based on 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A75 cores and small ARM Cortex-A55 cores. For the graphics, the phone has ARM Mali-G52 GPU. With this SoC, Xiaomi hints that the company is not discounting on using MediaTek processors. The Redmi Note 9 has the Helio G85 while the Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in Snapdragon 720G.
Redmi 9 is available in two memory variants of - 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. There’s also a microSD card slot for storage expansion which supports up to 512GB of microSD card.

The phone runs on MIUI 11 on top of Android 10 out of the box. It will receive an update for MIUI 12 soon.
