OPPO today announced the official release of the 125W flash charge, the 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charger, the ultra-small portable 50W mini SuperVOOC charger as well as the 110W mini flash chargers.

Oppo’s New Super Fast Chargers

As per the Oppo’s claim, the newly announced OPPO’s 125W flash control technology uses direct charging technology that can fully charge a smartphone battery in 20 minutes at the fastest speed. It is compatible with SuperVOOC and VOOC flash control protocols and it supports mainstream protocols including 125W PPS and 65W PD. This is the fastest flash charging technology in the industry at the moment.

According to Oppo, the new charger followed the technical layout of SuperVOOC and the 125W flash charge has undergone a thorough hardware structure upgrade. It supports a charging scheme of up to 20V 6.25A and has significantly enhanced power density properties to effectively reduce charging time whilst not increasing the size of this charger. It is equipped with cells using great battery ratio, multiple tab structures, charge pumps along with also a highly integrated MCU to improve charging performance.

Similarly, the 125W flash control has strengthened the safety protection features by adding 10 additional temperature sensors that monitor the charging position and ensure safety during charging. The platform utilizes fuse overvoltage protection steps cable as well as a 128-bit high-strength encryption algorithm to enhance safety.

These attributes mean that the 65W wireless flash charger provides a charging experience and may become users’ charger choice in the 5G era. OPPO also launched the world’s smallest and thinnest 50W miniature charger, and also the 110W miniature flash charger.

Another great launched from Oppo is the new wireless charger with 65W output. The new 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge can a 4000mAh battery in half an hour at the fastest rate. To gain this challenging speed, the company has reduced the interference in frequency and allowed wireless charging to be widely applied. The tech has five-fold safety protection measures in addition to a foreign object detection role. It is also compatible with all the Qi standard and provides users with a super-fast and cable-free charging encounter.

125W Flash Charging in the 5G Era

The 125W flash charge technology marks the most recent flash charge breakthrough for the cell phone industry. Using strict temperature control regulators and a superior encryption algorithm, it enables the efficient and safe utilization of the flash charging device. The 65W AirVOOC wireless flash control allows users to charge faster compared to conventional wired charging. The 50W mini SuperVOOC charger is the innovations of OPPO’s VOOC flash control technology.

OPPO’s engineers designed a new structure for the 50W mini SuperVOOC charger and decreased the size of the components which occupy the most space using a new topological design. This provides a power conversion by introducing pulse charging in addition to taking away the capacitor – the first in the industry, power clamping diodes and GaN high frequency switching power supply technologies, to eventually achieve miniaturization of chargers.

New Charger Technology for the Future

The new chargers come with a base that has a semiconductor cooler to correct the heat entering and exiting ensuring that the smartphones aren’t hot after it is charged. The design makes cellular phone charging more suitable and has the potential for high-power charging.

OPPO’s 50W miniature SuperVOOC charger was developed via multi-radian curve processing to a size somewhat like a business card holder; with a width of just 1.05cm. The 50W mini SuperVOOC charger is compatible with VOOC protocols, supports mainstream protocols, and may control a variety of devices such as mobile phones and notebooks.

Building on the 50W miniature SuperVOOC charger platform, OPPO’s 110W mini flash charger has defied the limitations of size and efficacy. Besides using the advanced dual-level structure to achieve high-efficiency energy conversion and temperature rise control, the 110W mini flash charger is built upon the combination of laminate and compact constructions which minimizes its size to just 35.76 cm³ - like the size of a standard 18W charger.

Jeff Zhang, Chief Charging Technology Scientist in OPPO, commented, “The accelerated 5G rollout globally in addition to the increasing number of high-power-consumption applications including gaming and movie viewing represents new challenges for its battery lifetime of mobile phones and user charging encounter. OPPO has been leading the growth of fast charging since the VOOC flash charge was launched in 2014. Now, we are dedicated to continuing to build on our experience and advantages in the area of high energy, wireless, and ultra-small charging technologies to provide users with a safe, efficient, and convenient ultra-fast charging encounter.”
